# Utilities

> Suggest ideas for MSS2, vote for the ones you want and follow them from review to a live utility. Free for anyone with 1,000 MSS2 staked.

Canonical page: https://www.mintstakeshare.com/docs/utilities

The [Utilities](/robinhood/utilities) page is home to the MSS2 Forge: one idea board where the community suggests new things MSS2 could do, votes for the ones it wants most, and follows them as the MSS2 team builds them. Finished utilities are listed there too, ready to open.

Robinhood and Arc share the same board. Ideas, votes and utilities are the same whichever chain you have selected.

## How it works

1. **Suggest.** Anyone who meets the stake requirement sends an idea: a short title and a description.
2. **Review.** The MSS2 team reads each idea before it goes on the board.
3. **Vote.** Stakers back the idea they want most. Each wallet has one vote and can move it at any time.
4. **Build.** The MSS2 team picks ideas from the top of the board and starts building them.
5. **Launch.** Finished utilities move to Live, with a link to open them.

Taking part is free. Suggesting and voting never cost tokens or gas.

## Requirements

| To | You need |
| --- | --- |
| Browse ideas, open live utilities, share links | Nothing. No wallet needed. |
| Suggest an idea or vote | A connected wallet with at least **1,000 MSS2 staked** on Robinhood or Arc, and a one-time sign-in |

How the stake requirement works:

- **It counts your permanent stake**, the amount recorded in the staking contract. MSS2 held in your wallet does not count. Stake on the [Stake](/robinhood/stake) page.
- **One chain is enough.** You need 1,000 MSS2 staked on Robinhood *or* on Arc. Stakes on the two chains are not added together, so 600 on each does not qualify.
- **It is checked once.** The Forge reads your stake from the chain the first time you suggest or vote. Because staking is permanent, a wallet that qualifies stays qualified.

If your wallet is connected but below the requirement, the page says so and the Vote and Suggest buttons are turned off.

> [!NOTE]
> Staking is permanent. Only stake MSS2 you are happy to keep staked. See [Staking](/docs/staking) and [Risks](/docs/risks).

## Signing in

The first time you suggest or vote, your wallet asks you to sign a message. Signing proves you own the wallet; it is not a transaction and costs nothing.

- **One signature lasts 30 days** in that browser. After that, the next vote or suggestion asks again.
- **Your wallet should be on Robinhood or Arc.** If it is on another network, the page asks it to switch first.
- **Smart wallets work.** Topaz ID and other smart-contract wallets sign in the same way.
- **Switching wallets?** The board follows the connected wallet. Sign in again with the new one when you act.
- **Signing out** is at the bottom of the Utilities page.

Each signed message works once and expires after 10 minutes, so an old signature cannot be reused.

## Suggesting an idea

Select **Suggest an idea** at the top of the Utilities page.

| Field | Limit |
| --- | --- |
| Title | Up to 80 characters |
| What should it do, and who is it for? | Up to 600 characters |

Good ideas say what the utility does, who uses it and why it helps MSS2 holders. You can have **one idea waiting for review at a time**. Once the MSS2 team has looked at it, you can send another.

After you send it, the idea appears under **Your ideas** on the Utilities page, where only you can see its status. It cannot be edited once sent. If something needs changing, the MSS2 team can decline it with a note and you can send an improved version.

## Voting

Each wallet holds **one vote**.

- **Vote** backs an idea. The button changes to **Voted**.
- **Voting for a different idea** moves your vote there.
- **Selecting Voted** takes your vote back.

The board lists ideas by votes, most first; ideas with equal votes show the newest first. Vote totals are public. Who voted for what is not shown.

When an idea moves to Building, or is closed, every vote on it comes back to its wallet so you can back something else.

## From idea to utility

Your ideas show one of these statuses under **Your ideas**.

| Status | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| In review | Waiting for the MSS2 team to review it. Only you and the MSS2 team can see it. |
| On the board | Approved and open for votes. |
| Building | The MSS2 team is building it. Its card may show a short update. |
| Live | Finished. It is listed under Live with an **Open** button. |
| Not accepted | The MSS2 team did not put it on the board. A reason may appear beneath it. |
| Closed | Taken off the board, for example as a duplicate or because it cannot be built. A reason may appear beneath it. |

Live utilities are built to work on both Robinhood and Arc. **Open** may take you to a separate site; check the address before you connect a wallet there.

## Sharing an idea

Each idea on the board has a share button. It shares a link that opens the Utilities page with that idea highlighted. When your wallet is connected, the link also carries your [referral link](/docs/referrals), the same way your other MSS2 links do.

## Who runs the board

The MSS2 team moderates the Forge. The main MSS wallet and the team wallets it chooses can approve or decline ideas, start building, post updates, mark ideas live and close them. Team members can also post ideas straight to the board, and the team may build ideas of its own.

## What the Forge is not

- **Not a payment.** Nothing is paid, burned or locked to suggest or vote.
- **Not a promise.** Votes show the MSS2 team what the community wants most. They do not oblige the team to build an idea, or to build it by a certain time.
- **Not governance.** The Forge does not control any contract, the treasury or MSS2's economics.
- **Not a reward scheme.** Ideas and votes earn no tokens, and nobody is paid for an idea that gets built.

## Privacy

- Approved ideas are public. Your wallet address is not shown on them.
- Vote totals are public. Individual votes are not.
- The Forge stores your wallet address with your ideas, your vote and your sign-in. Sign-in attempts are kept for one hour, with the IP address they came from, to limit abuse.

## Troubleshooting

| You see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| Vote and Suggest are greyed out | Stake at least 1,000 MSS2 on Robinhood or Arc, then reload the page. |
| "Stake at least 1,000 MSS2 on Robinhood or Arc to take part." | Your stake is below the requirement on both chains. |
| "Your stake could not be checked right now." | A chain could not be reached. Try again in a moment. |
| "Your last idea is still waiting for review." | Wait for the MSS2 team to review it, then send the next one. |
| "Your wallet changed. Try again." | You switched wallets while an action was running. Do it again with the wallet you want. |
| "Too many sign-ins. Try again in a few minutes." | Many sign-ins came from your network. Wait a few minutes. |
| The wallet asks to switch networks | Approve it. Signing in uses Robinhood or Arc. |
