Minting
How the MSS2 mint curve works, what happens to your payment, and how to claim your tokens in a later block.
Minting creates new MSS2 at a price that rises 25% with every million tokens sold on that chain. You pay once, your token amount is locked in when the mint confirms, and you claim it in a later block. Other mints that confirm before yours can move the price, so you may receive less than your quote; see Minimum received.
The price curve
Each chain has its own curve. The first million paid tokens cost 0.5 ETH on Robinhood and 1,500 USDC on Arc. Every following million costs 25% more than the one before.
| Million | Robinhood (ETH per million) | Arc (USDC per million) |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | 0.5 ETH | 1,500 USDC |
| 2nd | 0.625 | 1,875 |
| 3rd | 0.78125 | 2,343.75 |
| 4th | 0.9766 | 2,929.69 |
| 5th | 1.2207 | 3,662.11 |
| 10th | 3.7253 | 11,175.87 |
| 20th | 34.69 | 104,083.41 |
Only paid mints move the curve. Tokens created for liquidity, staking rewards, referral stake credits and bridge arrivals do not. Pending mints that are not yet claimed already count, so the next buyer always sees the true price.
Orders that cross a tier
A mint that crosses a tier boundary pays each tier's price for the tokens inside it. The quote in the app already includes this.
For example, suppose 900,000 MSS2 have been minted on Robinhood and you pay 0.5 ETH. The last 100,000 tokens of the first tier cost 0.05 ETH. The remaining 0.45 ETH buys 720,000 tokens at the second-tier price. You receive 820,000 MSS2.
How to mint
- Open Mint on your chain and connect your wallet.
- Enter the amount of ETH or USDC to pay. Mint limit fills in the payment for the most you can mint in one transaction.
- Check the quote. The app simulates the full mint, including the liquidity deposit, before it enables the button.
- Optionally turn on Mint & stake to stake the tokens permanently when you claim.
- Confirm in your wallet.
- After the next block, open Activity and select Claim mint.
Limits on a single mint
| Limit | Robinhood | Arc |
|---|---|---|
| Most tokens per mint | 1,000,000 MSS2 | 1,000,000 MSS2 |
| Largest payment per mint | 100 ETH | 1,000,000 USDC |
Both limits apply to every mint. They are per transaction, not per wallet, so you can mint again. A payment that would buy more than one million tokens is rejected in full; it is never partly filled.
Minimum received
Your payment never changes once you sign. What can change is the number of tokens it buys, because other mints can land first and push the price into the next tier.
- Accept any amount is on by default. Your mint goes through at whatever tier price applies when it is mined.
- Turn it off to protect yourself. The default minimum is 70% of the quote. You can also type your own minimum in MSS2.
If the tokens you would receive fall below your minimum, the transaction reverts. You keep your payment but still pay gas. A mint request also expires if it is not mined within about 10 minutes.
Where your payment goes
- Referral rewards come off the top: 5% to your referrer, 2.5% to theirs and 1.25% to the next level up, only for levels that exist.
- 75% of the rest is immediately added to liquidity, in the permanently locked Topaz position, in the same transaction.
| Paying 1 ETH (or 1,500 USDC) | Referral rewards | Added to liquidity |
|---|---|---|
| No referrer | 0 | 0.75 ETH (1,125 USDC) |
| One level | 0.05 ETH (75 USDC) | 0.7125 ETH (1,068.75 USDC) |
| All three levels | 0.0875 ETH (131.25 USDC) | 0.684375 ETH (1,026.56 USDC) |
The liquidity share is paired with newly issued MSS2 at the current pool price and added to the pool before your mint is confirmed. Referral rewards are held in the contract and released when the mint is claimed. See Liquidity and Referrals.
Claiming
A mint becomes claimable one block after it was requested. On Robinhood the contract counts Robinhood's own block numbers. Claiming:
- delivers the amount locked in when your mint confirmed; it is never repriced
- releases the referral rewards as withdrawable credits
- stakes the tokens instead, if you chose Mint & stake
Claims do not touch the pool, so they keep working even when new mints are paused. Your reservations stay listed in Activity until you claim them.
Mint & stake
Mint & stake sends your claimed tokens straight into your permanent stake. It only works for your own wallet. Your direct referrer earns the 5% stake credit, the same as for any wallet stake.
The per-wallet stake cap is 25,000,000 MSS2. The contract never rejects a claim over the cap: whatever fits is staked and the rest goes to your wallet. The app goes further and asks you to mint less or turn off Mint & stake when the amount would not fit.
Mint status
The mint card shows one status for the selected chain.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | The opening time is set and has not arrived yet. |
| Open | Mints are accepted. |
| Paused | The owner paused new mints. Claims still work. |
| Preparing liquidity | The pool is not funded yet, so mints are not accepted. |
| Sold out | All 128 million paid tokens on this chain have been minted. |
An amount can also be refused while minting is open. The most common reasons are the per-mint limits and the liquidity safeguard below. Choosing a different amount, or waiting for the pool price to change, resolves it.
Details
- Liquidity safeguard. The MSS2 issued into the pool for your mint can be at most 10 times the tokens you are buying. This only matters if the pool price falls far below the mint price: roughly below 7.5% of the tier price with no referrer, or 6.84% with all three levels. Above that line, mints work normally. A high pool price never blocks minting.
- Curve end. The curve has 128 tiers, so each chain can sell at most 128 million paid tokens. This is not a cap on total supply. In practice the payment limit binds long before that: from the 25th million on Robinhood and the 31st on Arc, the largest payment buys less than a full million.
- Rounding. Prices round up and token amounts round down, by amounts far too small to see.
- Failed mints. A mint that reverts takes no payment. There is no refund step, because a payment is only accepted if the whole mint succeeds.
- Who can claim. Anyone can submit the claim for a request, but the tokens always go to the wallet recorded in it.
- Referrer binding. Your first mint, stake or Buy & stake with a referral link records that referrer on this chain permanently. See Referrals.
