Tokenomics and supply
Where new MSS2 comes from, what removes it, how staking rewards are paid, and how to read the live supply figures.
MSS2 has no fixed maximum supply. New tokens come from minting, liquidity, staking rewards and bridge arrivals, and leave through burns and bridge departures. Every source is counted separately on-chain.
Token basics
| Property | Value |

Where MSS2 comes from
| Source | When it is created | Moves the mint price? |
|---|---|---|
| Paid mints | When a mint is claimed | Yes, from the moment it is requested |
| Liquidity | With the opening seed and with every mint, directly into the locked pool | No |
| Staking rewards | When a collect exceeds the tokens the staking contract holds | No |
| Referral stake credits | When a direct referral stakes 1 MSS2 or more | No |
| Bridge arrivals | When a transfer from the other chain is delivered | No |
What removes MSS2
| Way out | What happens |
|---|---|
| Burns | Anyone can burn their own wallet MSS2. Burned tokens are gone for good. |
| Bridge departures | Tokens sent to the other chain are burned here and minted there. |
How staking rewards are paid
Staking is the main ongoing source of new MSS2, so it is worth understanding exactly.
- All staked MSS2 on a chain is held by the staking contract. It is never withdrawn.
- When you collect, the contract pays you from the MSS2 it holds first. It mints new MSS2 only when those run short.
- When you compound, nothing is minted. Your recorded stake simply increases.
- Referral stake credits are always newly minted.
Because collect draws down the tokens the contract holds, the total of all recorded stakes can become larger than the contract's actual MSS2 balance. That is expected: recorded stakes are never redeemable, so they only need to exist as a record that earns rewards.
Example
Stakers on a chain have deposited 10,000,000 MSS2 in total. Over time they collect 2,000,000 MSS2. All of it is paid from the 10,000,000 the contract holds, and no new MSS2 is minted. Recorded stakes stay at 10,000,000 or more. Only when collections exceed what the contract holds does new MSS2 start to be minted.
Reading the live figures
The Supply & mint funding panel on the Mint page shows these figures for the selected chain, read directly from the contracts at one block.
| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Paid mints issued | Tokens delivered by claimed mints |
| Issued for liquidity | Tokens paired into the locked pool, including the seed |
| Minted for staking rewards | Collect shortfalls plus referral stake credits |
| Tokens burned locally | Tokens permanently burned on this chain |
| Bridged into this chain | Tokens received from the other chain |
| Bridged out of this chain | Tokens sent to the other chain |
| Supply on this chain | Paid + liquidity + rewards + bridged in − burned − bridged out |
| Reserved, not yet issued | Mints requested but not yet claimed |
The panel also shows mint funding: total mint payments, what was sent to the liquidity vault, referral and operations credits, and the opening seed, which is listed separately from mint payments.
Details
- Two supplies. Each chain reports its own supply. The combined supply is the sum of both, minus any tokens in transit between them.
- Reserved tokens. Requested mints already count toward the mint price, but are not part of the token supply until claimed.
- Inflation. Collect pays 0.75% a day and compound adds 1.5% a day to recorded stakes. Over time this adds MSS2 to circulation, which can push the market price down. See Risks.
- Fees are not rewards. The 3% trading fee is reinvested into liquidity. It does not fund or back staking rewards.
